It starts with the hill fort of Amer palace built near the Maotha Lake, 11km from the city of Jaipur. From the sinusoidal road tracing the hills, you reach the Jal Mahal Palace. A beautiful palace situated in the middle of Man Sagar Lake.
As we move further towards the pink walls of the old jaipur city, we come to the Jorawar Singh Gate, the northern entrance of the fortification. Moving towards the center of the city we reach the Hawa Mahal road. The picture below is of the Manek Chowk or Badi Chaupad ( Big Square ), it is situated between the Hawa Mahal to the north and Jama Masjid to its south.
The east is always bustling with people of all kinds, from traders to tourists, from rickshaws to trucks. The Hawa Mahal presents itself to the onlookers with a vivid color and charm. The five storey red sandstone screens sits with poise at the corner of the street.
